Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the website at greypeacock.ca or engaging Grey Peacock Inc. ("Grey Peacock", "we", "us", or "our") for any delivery, installation, or relocation services. By accessing our website or booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Services
Grey Peacock provides furniture delivery, installation, and relocation services in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. The specific scope of services for each engagement is agreed upon between Grey Peacock and the client prior to the commencement of work, either verbally, in writing, or through a confirmed booking.
We reserve the right to decline any service request at our discretion, including requests that fall outside our service area, operational capacity, or that present safety risks to our team or property.
2. Bookings and Confirmations
All bookings are subject to availability. A booking is confirmed only when explicitly acknowledged by Grey Peacock via phone or email. Quote requests submitted through our website form do not constitute a confirmed booking until we have contacted you and agreed on scheduling and scope.
We will make reasonable efforts to honour confirmed booking times. In the event of unforeseen circumstances (severe weather, equipment failure, or other events beyond our control), we will contact you as early as possible to reschedule.
3. Client Responsibilities
To ensure a successful delivery or installation, the client is responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the delivery address, access requirements, and any building restrictions (freight elevator hours, loading dock availability, etc.)
- Ensuring that a responsible adult is present at the delivery location during the scheduled service window
- Ensuring clear and safe access to the delivery route and placement location
- Notifying us in advance of any fragile, high-value, or unusual items that may require special handling
- Confirming building access arrangements (freight elevator booking, security clearance, etc.) prior to the scheduled service date
Grey Peacock is not liable for delays or unsuccessful deliveries caused by inaccurate client-provided information or failure to meet access requirements.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that plans change. We ask that cancellations or rescheduling requests be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled service time. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee, which will be communicated at the time of booking or in our service agreement.
5. Insurance and Liability
Grey Peacock carries general liability insurance and cargo coverage for items in our care during transport and installation. In the event of damage to furniture or property caused by our team's negligence, please notify us within 48 hours of service completion. We will assess the situation and work with you toward a reasonable resolution.
Our liability is limited to the direct cost of repair or replacement of damaged items, up to the limits of our insurance coverage. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including loss of business, inconvenience, or loss of use.
Grey Peacock is not liable for damage to items that were pre-existing, improperly packaged by the manufacturer, or that result from structural limitations of the delivery location (narrow doorways, low ceilings, fragile flooring, etc.) that were not disclosed to us in advance.
